Foolish are those who plan outdoor events on the most rain-soaked weekend of the year – that otherwise known as Easter.
But for the crew at the Chester Food, Drink and Lifestyle Festival, for they have concocted a cunning plan.
- Step 1: head straight for the BeerFest (have you guessed what it is, yet?) where splodges of rain will only serve to recharge your tankard frothing with one of 50 real ales on display, ready for troughing.
- Step 2: Repair in fine staggering form to the delights of the food and drink compartment, imbibing as you wander unsteadily the bubbly proferrings of the Champagne Bar.
- Step 3: thrust uncertainly into the hidden corners of your waistcoat pocket for the keys to your Vee Dub, parked in the confines of the world’s first Chester CamperFest enclave. Dripping with rain, yet drenched with euphoria, you are sated. Chester Food, Drink and Lifestyle Festival: done.
