For any company you want to work for, the CV as a method of gaining interview is no longer acceptable.
For any company you want to work for, the interviewer/HR team will find you.
They’ll find you using any means necessary. They’ll be adept in the use of social media. They’ll search for people in their chosen field of expertise.
They’ll use Twitter to find out what people are saying about you. Facebook, to understand more about what maketh the (wo)man. LinkedIn for insight into your mind through the Answers service (so start using it if you’re not already in that space).
They’ll use Pipl to dig the dirt. They’ll use monitter to exhume anything else valid from the Twitter tubes and Twitoaster to see what conversations you’re having.
It’s nothing to be afraid of. You’re being valued and prequalified before you even know the job exists.
That’s a beautiful situation to be in.
And it’s happening. Now.
