I´m totally burned out with the stock trading thing. It´s effectively kaput. I don´t have the spirit for it. I don´t have the interest. I don´t have the mentorship.
I´ve spent quite a lot of time today just figuring out what it takes to be able to learn stuff. To become someone you want to be.
And why for many people self development is a fundamental impossibility.
It comes down to one thing. Ease.
Through ease I mean:
- Empowerment
- Collaboration
- Excitement, energy and enthusiasm
If we nail these we can change the world.
Let me explain my theory in a little more detail.
I´ve met a lot of people. Thousands. So have you, but your memory might not be as svelte as mine.
And through the years I´ve discovered the reason most people don´t advance in life is because - by their own admission alone – they ´can´t´.
They can.
Anyone can. Do anything. But it takes those three things bulleted above.
I just Twittered that we could teach the world to make great food if only someone like Stelios came along and launched a chain of easyCook training centres. Where people could drop in, learn stuff for half a day, and then refresh their knowledge a couple of weeks later.
I truly believe the Government should subsidise anything to do with learning. With self development comes self awareness, and with that comes the sacred key to unlock your creativity and ability to become a superior homo sapien.
Empowerment means equipping someone with the conviction they can. Because we can. We all can. It takes a mentor, a colleague, a friend or brother.
Collaboration means taking the time out to share your skills with other folk so they can become the person they always dreamed of. To empower as above, to develop confidence. To share, share, share. To unlimit the limited. To untap that harnessed potential. Because in each of us, there is something so incredible, so infinitely awe-inspiring. Yet for many/most it remains hidden for a lifetime.
Excitement, energy and enthusiasm are the cornerstones of personal development. To hell with all the self-help books. They´re just words on a page. To be successful – to really unleash the beast inside – you need to be possessed by boundless positivity and huge dollops of euphoria.
And the best thing about it is it´s so easy to get all these things ticking at the same time. You need a guide, in human form. Find your mentor or coach, and you´ve cracked it for life.
Everyone has more than one skill, a talent that can be shared. Know yours? If not, ask your friends and family. Then share it. As many times as you can.
Do that, and you can change the world.
