I woke this morning to the most magnificent sunrise.
This mesmerised me for two reasons: 1. Last week it was dark and wintry and the exact same time 2. I went to bed late and didn’t expect to wake up with optimism.
I always associate the vivid colours of sunrise with happiness and a determination to invoke action and positive change. So this was a GOOD DAY!
More remarkable still was that it was a Monday. Mondays are Bad Days Guaranteed. Or are they? Is that ‘Monday thing’ simply a state of mind?
It sometimes seems unimaginable that obstacles like Mondays can be overcome with a change of focus. The weekend has left you drained of energy (why do they put Mondays after Sunday?!) and the last thing you want to do is tumble out of bed into those drab work clothes.
The key to flicking that switch from negative to positive, to affect change in your mind, is to give yourself fresh focus. “So today is Monday – new beginnings, fresh opportunities. What can I achieve today that gives me and others a huge lift?”
Understand how much you have to give and you can kick off your week with a smile in your heart.
It’s important on a Monday to think of all the good things happening around you. Does ‘Always Look On The Bright Side Of Life’ ring a bell? But it’s more than a song – it’s an anthem for life.
You have SO many great things to be thankful for, and next week I’ll be looking at the gratitude attitude which will take you to even greater levels of happiness and motivation.
Right now I want you to be thankful for what you did last week; how you make other people feel and how they make YOU feel; that we’re on the cusp of a beautiful spring, that the birds are singing and every day is a fresh and daisy-white blank canvas waiting for you to paint it with the result of your creative endeavours.
Today is the day you start work on your daily goals. Life is magic and you’re the alchemist. Get out and make things happen. It’s the first Miraculous Monday of your life. Go change that water into wine and do it with a beaming smile!
