Modern media marketing matters

The crutch and a constant craving

I’ve spent one of the most intriguing and rewarding days ‘on the road’.

On the eve of my first-ever live broadcast radio show, I decided to hit the highway and go see some folks I’m associated with in the vaguest sense.

From those I have never met before but held in the highest regard (Don McAllister of Screencasts Online fame – and stop press, a crazy useful blog for iPad obsessives) to those with incredible city savvy (despite the best of Brum backgrounds, the ever-energetic Neil Morrin of Defnet Media has Liverpool smarts in abundance and Tom Johnson of Lazy Genius likewise) and the pure creative genius that is John Scotland himself (more about that later – it’s going to get sweltering hot for this guy), it’s been energy and business passion in abundance.

A perfect start to a new dawn for Dave and The Project.

You’ll be aware I’ve had commercial aspirations on my mind for a long time. Now’s the time to realise them.

But first it’s been a case of realising the how. How to help. I’ve done the altruistic thing to a degree but ultimately, as reported on this ‘ere blog in the past, I want to give my skills in pursuit of other people’s success.

How do they need me? I discover that everyone – no matter where they are in the venture cycle – needs a little support. Advice, suggestion, ideas, creativity, innovative proposals, strategy insight.

It’s a blessing and a curse. It’s a curse for the business guy or gal who just wants to get on and work on the product or service, free of the shackles of everything that communications and marketing requires.

It’s a benefit for your local communications, marketing and PR guy who can make the impossible, possible.

Passionate about success. Are you?
